SAE Week 4

G’day,

I’ve had another massive weekend of live sound, this time at the Port Fairy Folk Festival with the Davidson Brothers. Good times!

Here is a link to the final mix for our Terminator scene from last week:

And here is my music production pitch that I presented in class:

We’re now moving into the Live Sound subject at SAE, using the Avid venue software and the new E3/S3 console system. While I have a lot of experience in this area already it is great to go over things, and I’m probably learning more than I realise at the time. I’m looking forward to the solo mix session in our third week; I think that will be a lot of fun. Lance and Tim are both very entertaining tutors with heaps to say and are very encouraging.

For my major project later in the year I’ve nominated the Film Sound Company, which is directly in line with what I hope to achieve this year. We’re beginning to integrate more with the film students and I expect that this will introduce me to a whole new working environment which I’m interested in learning more about.

Thanks for reading!
